Valentina Torrado

Valentina Torrado, Montevideo 1981

She lives and works in Berlin. She graduates in Communication Sciences from the Catholic University and has been working as a plastic artist since 2002 developing artistic communication projects between Germany and Uruguay. She studied drawing, painting, collage and etching with artists such as Javier Santamaría, Marcelo Legrand and Pedro Peralta.

She was awarded several scholarships in Germany, by the Batuz Foundation Working Centre Societé Imaginaire and by the Karl Hofer Gesellschaft/UDK Foundation, to name but some. She has exhibited individually and collectively, in Uruguay and in Hungary, Poland and Germany. Her techniques vary from painting to pieces in wood, photography, installations and videos.
